The occurrence of Bass locked together in this fashion is more common than one would think. Several times in the 1920's and 1930's pictures were sent to major "Outdoor" magazines of an exact event. The most common theory is that the two bass were in the act of attacking the same minnow when the accidental collision and succeeding "lock up" occurred
