From the December 1930 Sporting Goods Illustrated comes a neat little blurb about a South Bend tackle rep of some renown. R.K. Snyder was hired to cover the states of Washington, Oregon, California and Nevada, and even spent a couple weeks learning the trade from Wes Jordan, legendary rodmaker for Cross, South Bend and Orvis. Snyder was a five-time West Coast champion surfcaster. The article was accompanied by a photograph of Snyder as well.

A nifty piece that gives us a name and face to put into South Bend history!
