Every weekend Dick Streater gives us his thought of the week, culled from his voluminous files on fishing and tackle history.
Streater's Thought of the Week: The first recorded use of the Pork Chunk/Rind Bait was by Elmer Wilkinson of Chicago in 1896. He was fishing with live frogs when he ran out, and made an artificial frog by cutting up a piece of salt pork.
