Joan Blondell was an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Academy Award-nominated actress who cut her teeth playing gold-digging blonde characters in the 1930s. An accomplished actress, she fought against typecasting and really reached her zenith as an artist in the 1950s-1970s, when she was playing supporting roles.

Here she poses for a publicity still dated 1933, looking as if she was no stranger to fly fishing gear.
