In this edition of Hollywood Goes Fishing we get a classic fly fishing image of Myrna Loy, who was one of the biggest female stars of the 1930s. Best known for portraying Nora Charles in the legendary The Thin Man movies, based on the Dashiell Hammett books, she was the daughter of a Montana rancher who grew up around hunting and fishing. Here she is in a press photo dated 1938. A frequent co-star with Clark Gable (himself a fly fisherman), she made the "Quigley Poll of the Top 10 Money Making Stars" the year this picture was taken. A lovely and talented woman, she can be counted among the fraternity of anglers.
