I Will Miss You, Mom

After a short but ferocious battle with cancer, my mother Taeko Arai Larson peacefully passed away today, surrounded by family. She was an angler in her younger days and put up with a crazy fishing family of boys for over six decades. I can't remember ever having cross words with her. I will miss you every day, mama-san.

  1. I am sorry for the loss of your mother.

I do not know if this is the appropriate time or place to ask this question, but I recently aquired a fishing pole & reel, and I was wondering if you could tell me if it is anything special and what it is worth. The reel is black and has raised lettering that says "CARGEM 600" in an oval and "EMPEREUR" at an angle, below. On the back it says "Made in Italy" and has an emblem with very small lettering that (I think) says "MARCHIO DEPOSITATO".

Please let me know if you are familiar with this.

  2. I, too, lost my my mom this year year. She single handedly raised four rowdy ones with only five years between oldest and youngest. After getting us on our way, she grew into a staunch conservationist in West Virginia. And, as an investment banker, she assisted many grassroot organizations create profitable investment portfolios.

  3. She reminds me of my mom. I am deeply saddened about the loss of your mom but I feel happy too because she is at peace now, no more pain, no more sufferings, only happiness with our creator above.
