1000 Words: Hollywood Goes Fishing

This month in Hollywood Goes Fishing we feature a great 1940 photo of Dorothy Lamour (1914-1996). Probably best known for her role in a myriad of "On the Road" films with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby (two dedicated anglers), Lamour was a gifted stage actress who spent the last third of her career traveling America and giving intimate one-woman shows. This studio portrait was almost certainly in support of the acclaimed Road to Singapore, the first of the many films in this series.
