1000 Words This week in 1000 words we get a fascinating photo of Lake Arrowhead, California trout fishing by Rod La Rocque and Vilma Banky ca. 1930. La Rocque was a French-Canadian actor who was popular in the silent film era; Vilma Banky was his wife, and a Hungarian actress of renown. In the 1930s they retired from acting and became very successful real estate agents, and spent the remainder of their days together (La Rocque passed in 1969) playing golf and fishing.
This blog deals with our outdoor heritage. It concentrates in particular on the history of fishing and fishing tackle, and seeks to provide interesting, informative, and important materials for anyone who wants to help preserve our nation's (and the world's) fishing. ©2007-2018 Dr. Todd Larson.
