Well, it's that time of year again -- the Spring Lang's Auction! Per usual, the fine folks at Lang's have put together another great collection for the tackle collector. I am always amazed at the great stuff they manage to collect, and this auction is no different. It definitely has something for everyone.
I'm going to highlight my 10 favorite items from the upcoming auction. And we begin with a big one!
Words can't really describe how neat this Jack Charlton reel is. Even though it's only about 15 years old, it is the height of reel making. Just an unbelievable reel.
I just don't think you can find a nicer example of a rare and historic reel than this John Pepper Jr. automatic fly reel. It's incredible.
The only known Gayle No. 11 will make your jaw drop. It's just beautiful!
I love this 7' Walt Carpenter trout rod.
There are some exceptional vintage flies, but none strikes my fancy like this Ted Gordon original.
An incredible Shakespeare Point of Purchase display sign would look great in my den.
Arthur Taylor passed away in 2010. He was a world class painter, as evidenced by this classic work:
Well, you'll not find a rarer item in the auction than this Baby Haskell Minnow.
Seen a few of these around of late, but none as nice as this one.
A color collection of 21 Tulsa Stunters is pretty awesome.
