The Lure that Isn't A Lure

How many times on Joe's Board and at shows over the years has someone shown up with one of these, often with fish hooks attached, thinking they had a rare, early metal lure. Unfortunately, they were not fishing lures but watch fobs that were offered by National Sportsman Magazine as a premium for sending in subscriptions. They must not have been too popular as they went from being a premium to being sold outright for several years for 25 cents as in this May 1914 advertisement. My suspicion is that they had several barrels full of them in the back room as they show up quite often.
