The First Spinnerbait?
A lot of modern day fisherman think the the single bladed "Spinnerbait" was invented in the 1960's or 1970's. This 85 year old ad from the 1924 Sporting Goods Journal shows that Jamison produced one long before that. When studying advertising from over the last 100+ years it becomes apparent that many good (and some not so good) ideas are regularly recycled in the fishing tackle trade.
